NCSSM offers a range of support for students who qualify for one of three tiers of financial assistance. Benefits can include stipends, access to basic supplies, and subsidized prom tickets and yearbooks. Any time your student travels off campus, they should sign off campus by using either the LiveSafe app on their phone or by using one of the tablets available at the Bryan desk. In addition, your student will need to be signed out at the Hunt or Bryan front desks if your student is doing any of the following:
traveling more than 30 miles from campus
going to miss 10pm check on Sunday-Thursday or 12am check on Friday or Saturday
spending the night off campus
If someone designated with guardian status in Focus is picking up your student, you'll need to show your ID to the staff member at the desk as part of our student checkout process. If someone not designated as a guardian in Focus is picking up your student, you will first need to fill out and submit the student travel permission form.
We ask that you submit the student travel permission form 48 hours in advance of your student leaving campus. A member of student life staff will call you to confirm the details submitted through the student travel permission form. You only need to submit the student travel permission form if someone without guardian status in Focus is picking up your student and your student is traveling more than 30 miles from campus, missing 10pm check on Sunday-Thursday or 12am check on Friday or Saturday, or spending the night off campus.
Blackbaud is NCSSM's student information management system. Blackbaud connects you and your student to a whole host of resources, including calendars, course catalogs, schedules, and campus information. Please always make sure the information displayed in Blackbaud is accurate and up to date, as staff will use Blackbaud to locate the contact information for you and your student should a member of staff need to get in contact.
